Blake + Monica

I know what you're thinking! Where in the world is this castle in Oklahoma?! That's what I was thinking when Monica first hired me as her photographer. The Marland Mansion is in Ponca City and was the home to one of the richest men in the south in the 1920s during a boom in oil. By day this place is a museum and by night it is the coolest setting for a wedding. Monica and Blake really seemed like a King and Queen dancing around this place. Keep scrolling to see all the beautiful architecture and how magical this place really is!

Christian + Mae

This is not your typical wedding, friends!! Mae and Christian's wedding was one of the coolest weddings I have been a part of. My favorite part is the fact that Mae went to OU and Christian went to UT. If you're from Texas or Oklahoma you know why that's a huge deal. Secondly, Christian was born and raised in New Orleans and their wedding traditions are just a little different than those we are used to here in Oklahoma.

At a wedding in New Orleans, there are typically not seats for more than half of the guests because guests spend most of the evening on the dance floor. They love to dance!! Also, there is a full brass band who is responsible for keeping the dance floor going! The last thing I learned was what a second line was (Mae and Christian did this for their grand exit). A second line is when everyone goes to the street, following the brass band, and dances along behind the band waving their handkerchiefs. The tradition started when people would follow behind the brass band in large parades in New Orleans. SO COOL!!

I hope you learned something new and you enjoy this wedding day!

Braden + Paige

I love getting to shoot my friends' weddings! It just sets a completely different tone for me throughout the day. In addition to getting to hang out with my friends all day and basically be their paparazzi, it just hits my heart a little harder once the day gets going and of course when they cry I cry. (I probably teared up more than 5 times this day)

Braden and Paige have both been in my life for a while. I met Braden studying abroad in Italy for a month. All he ever wanted to talk about was Paige (which was fine with me- I love that kind of stuff). He told me and one of our other friends all about his plan to propose to Paige the coming spring. When that time rolled around I got to capture the proposal for them and that was the first time I had met Paige. There were white sheets hanging from the ceiling, he played the song he wrote for her, and then showed a little video to her so it was pretty much the most romantic proposal ever.

Ever since then Paige and I have grown really close and have had soooo many photo shoots together (photogs need model friends!!!) However shooting them on their wedding day was hands down my favorite day spent with them. You're definitely going to want to check out this wedding!

Brian + Katie

With every post, I love to share little fun facts about my couples. The coolest thing about Brian and Katie is that they actually only lived in the same city for a fraction of their relationship. They met in Utah one summer where Katie went to school. Soon after they started dating Brian moved to Germany to play hockey. They didn't even live in the same country!! That is amazing to me. I remember Katie telling me how it was hard but how they felt lucky because they got to know each other so well during that time because all they could do was talk and they always knew their time with each other was precious. MY HEART! Scroll down to check out their beautiful wedding day.

If you haven't looked at my blog post where I shared Brian and Katie's engagement photos at the Wichita Mountains then you for sure need to go look at that right now!

Nate + Kenzie

Nate and Makenzie are a match made in heaven. This couple and their families were the kindest people I have been around while shooting a wedding. You could just tell that everyone was beyond happy celebrating Nate and Makenzie that day and that is so special.

The day was perfect and every detail Kenzie planned was absolutely beautiful. Keep scrolling to see this wedding day.

Carson + Karey

Carson and Karey met me in the city on a beautiful summer evening. We hit all my favorite spots like this beautiful church and rooftop. Afterwards they wanted to do something a little different so we headed towards Lake Hefner to find some water/beach areas (which we never found) so we climbed out on the rocks for some beautiful shots! If you make it all the way to the bottom of this post, you're probably go to wonder why we stopped at a playground... haha Karey is an elementary school teacher so we both thought it was the perfect touch.

I love getting to personalize shoots as much as possible for my clients. It just adds all new meaning to the classic engagement portraits. PLUS it makes it way more fun for everyone.

Brian + Katie

I love when couples want to be a little adventurous with their shoot. Brian has traveled pretty much all over the world and Katie went to school in Utah (which is basically the most beautiful state) so they didn't want your typical engagement shoot.

When we got to the Wichita Mountains, Brian had never seen a buffalo up close before so of course he was so shocked to see how massive they were. It was my mistake having us go and shoot where some of the buffalos had been lying because later Brian and Katie told me how their car got infested with ticks! AH! Brain and Katie if you are reading this I AM STILL SO SORRY haha

Check out this beautiful engagement shoot below!

Makenzie Bridals

Bridal shoots are so much fun! They are not only a great opportunity to test out all your accessories and hair/makeup team, but also they help the actual wedding day go so much smoother since there is one less thing to photograph on the list.

Makenzie was such a beautiful bride. Make sure to check out her wedding day on my Nate+ Kenzie blog post.
