Ethan + Lauren

Ethan + Lauren

Ethan and Lauren got married on that one September day in Oklahoma where it NEVER STOPPED RAINING. If you went to a wedding or shot your own wedding on September 21st then you know what I am talking about. Luckily the venue they chose still had the cutest indoor option for their ceremony and the day continued on. It stopped raining right after the ceremony long enough for us to get a few photos outside PTL! A day like this just goes to show how you can handle difficulties as a couple. They both were the most laid back bride and groom i’ve ever had + Ethan just kept asking how Lauren was doing (assuming she was pretty down about the weather). The love + care they showed each other was just beautiful.

Side note: Last night I got an email from Lauren telling me that her brother had suddenly passed away about a week ago. She then told me how her wedding photos meant even more to her now then they did a few weeks ago when I sent them to her. She also told me that those were the last photos they had of him. This made me cry, of course, but then I just remembered every moment I had interacted with him at their wedding. All I knew about him was that he was so friendly, always smiling (and he had the biggest smile), and he had the best yelling voice (he helped me gather everyone for family photos - which you know makes you the photographer’s favorite person at a wedding).
The reason for me sharing this is because it is in moments like these where I remember why photos are so near to my heart. I know that someday we will all become a memory, and even when memories fade or become foggy, those photos you have of your loved ones will always be there to keep those memories alive.

Ok, I’m done now. Go hug your loved ones!!
